Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

MBFWB AW13 Overview

Once more, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week strikes Berlin and Brandenburger Tor comes alive for the fashion world to put on another around of spectacles. From garish East-European costumes to Western gunslinger motifs and everything in between, it's time for lights - camera - action.

MBFWB AW13 Overview

The morning begins with Lena Hoschek slamming plenty of rock n roll down the catwalk. Everything is tinged with rouge, laced through with regal-green, and crowned with flippant attitudes. Is this somehow "female seduction" in a decadent East European era?

Perret Schaad

On the other hand, the Perret Schaad show is clearly a reflection of the designers - having known Tutia and Johanna for two years now. It's a play of two complimenting personalities; Tutia's audible bursts of giggly laughter and Johanna's bright smiles, or the former’s chaotic worktable versus the later’s tidy one. The two are almost engineers when it comes to the meticulous precision of constructing clothes. But artists in the way they fold and drape fabric into poetic expressions that cling, billow, ripple, and shimmer.

Holy Ghost

Founded by three young women translating fashion for "urban heroines," Holy Ghost brings in a dose of 19th century gun-slinging to the catwalk. Someone call for Wyatt Earp, these ladies clearly have a nefarious streak.

Issever Bahri

And finally, Derya and Cimen of Issever Bahri once more holds true to their forte of knitwear that has gained them their international fame. Intricate, layered, and deliciously soft... oh winter, do your worst!
